Olympic Swim Course Online Map
Olympic 1.1k | Sprint 300m
The sprint swim will be a 300 meter point-to-point swim course, where swimmers will swim with the river current from the east bank boat dock to "concrete beach landing."
The Olympic swim will also exit at the "concrete beach landing." Olympic swimmers will board the General Jackson Showboat, cruise up river, jump from the boat and swim with the current to the exit. The jump location from the boat is similar in height to jumping from the boat dock, so no worries if you have a fear of heights.
The swim will be conducted in a time-trial fashion with a racer entering the water approximately every 3 to 5 seconds. Team Magic will ensure safe and passable footing for your exit from the river.
USA Triathlon Wet Suit Rules:
Article 4.4: Each age group participant shall be permitted to wear a wet suit without penalty in any event sanctioned by USA Triathlon up to and including a water temperature of 78 degrees Fahrenheit.
When the water temperature is greater than 78 degrees, but less than 84 degrees Fahrenheit, age group participants may wear a wet suit at their own discretion, provided however that participants who wear a wet suit within this temperature range shall not be eligible for prizes or awards.

Olympic 40k | Sprint 20k
Thanks to TDOT - the majority of the Olympic bike course will be a two-loop 20k course totaling 40k on Ellington Parkway. Ellington Parkway will be completely closed to traffic during the event. Sprint racers will do one loop. The course is out-and-back and is touted as a fast course. The path to and from Ellington Parkway is flat and the Ellington Parkway section has some steady inclines with matching fast slight downhills.
The bike course will start and finish on the access drive adjacent to Lower Lot R / Race Transition. Bikers proceed to a left on S. 1st Street, right on Victory Ave, left on S. 2nd on the east side of Nissan Stadium, right on Russell Street, left on S. 2nd Street, right onto Woodland Street, left onto S. 5th Street, then continue straight to merge onto Ellington Parkway. The return from Ellington Parkway follows the same route back to Lot R.
Olympic 6mi | Sprint 5k
Get ready for a flat, out-and-back course for both the sprint and the Olympic race. Runners will exit transition under the famous Shelby Pedestrian Bridge, through Cumberland Park along the East Bank Greenway adjacent to the river, then cut over to S 1st Street for a jump over to Davidson Street, which leads runners to a turnaround just shy of Shelby Park, then back to ground zero for a finish between the main staging area (East Bank Landing) and the race transition area. Olympic distance runners will do two loops, with a turn around under the Korean Veterans Boulevard Bridge.
