Site Overview | Main Staging Area | Transition Area
Modifications for 2021: We are offering the Olympic Distance this year. A Covid-19 protocol will be in place to be current with recommendations at the time of the event.
The transition area will remain at the grassy field used in 2020, as this adjustment does open up some great parking space and 2020 proved it was a nice alternative to the parking lots we had used in the past.

HELP US KEEP ALL BIKERS SAFE
A note to all racers, friends, and family.
To minimize cars on the racecourse while the race is still in progress:
- Racers, please be cautious when leaving the race site as bikes will still be finishing up until 10:30 am.
- Friends & Family, please arrive and park by 7:15 am and please be cautious when leaving the race site as bikes will still be finishing up until 10:30 am.
400 Yards Sprint | 1200 Yards Olympic
The swim course is an open water swim in very calm Double Oak Lake in Oak Mountain State Park. The swim start is an individual "time trial" type start. Each participant enters the water individually. Your race number defines when you enter the water, with race numbers in ascending order. Race Numbers are assigned based on your estimated swim time that you turned in on your entry form. The swim starts adjacent to the beach area with the exit at the boat ramp near the multi-use field where the transition area will be staged. Keep Buoys on your left. Follow race morning instructions to know which buoy to follow to the swim exit.
12 Miles Sprint | 24 Miles Olympic
The bike course is on nicely paved roads with a bike lane in Oak Mountain State Park. Please use the bike lane when there is one available. For USA Triathlon rules, the bike lane will be considered staying to the far right, but you will not be penalized if you cross the white line that separates the bike lane from the main drive. The course is an out-and-back course on the main park drive (where Findlay Drive becomes Oak Mtn Park Road) and Oak Mtn Park Road (also known as Terrace Drive.) This beautiful course is moderately hilly with some nice fast sections as well. There will not be hydration or nutrition support on the bike course. Plan to be self-sustaining by bringing and carrying your own hydration/nutrition.
3 Miles Sprint | 5.5 Mile Olympic
The run course is a combination loop and out-and-back course on paved roads around the park picnic areas and a beautiful section with short, rolling hills through a shady and wooded section of the park. PLEASE STAY TO YOUR LEFT AT ALL TIMES.
We encourage you to be self-sustaining by carrying your own hydration/nutrition. There will be a minimally supervised iced bottled water & iced bottled Powerade station at approximately 3/4 mile, 1.5 miles, and 2.25 miles (these will be hit twice by Olympic distance.)
