kj bikeCoach Kathleen Johnston
Kathleen is a USA Triathlon Level 2 Certified Coach and elite age group triathlete. She holds a BS and MS degree in Chemical Engineering and worked for several years in research and management for a Fortune 500 company before starting TriSuccess Multisport Coaching LLC in 2006. She competed as a swimmer and hunter / jumper rider throughout high school and college before doing her first triathlon in 1987. Since then she has competed in over 180 multisport events including the Hawaii Ironman, Boston Marathon and numerous National and World Triathlon Championships.


Kathleen has mentored with elite National Team coaches at the US Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs and coached at a collegiate and junior elite camp at the Training Center. She has been instrumental in developing junior elite triathletes in the Southeast Region and currently serves as the Southeast Regional Athlete Development Coordinator and head coach for the Southeast Region Junior High Performance Team. Kathleen uses her science and management background, sport specific education, and personal race experience to deliver high quality coaching to athletes who have achieved numerous Ironman finishes and podium results at Regional, National and World Championship events.

cb actCoach Caroline Butler
Caroline is a USA Triathlon Level 2 Certified Coach and experienced age group triathlete. She holds a BA degree in Fine Arts from Rhodes College where she competed as a collegiate runner. She did her first triathlon in 1999 and has since achieved several age group wins, a podium at USAT National Championships and qualified for World Sprint Triathlon Championships. She began coaching in 2005 when she started a youth triathlon training program at her local YMCA. She now serves as an assistant coach for the Southeast Region Junior High Performance Team.


In addition to coaching, Caroline is an experienced race director and currently works as a coordinator for Team Magic Race Management. She is well versed in the complexities of training for multisports while raising a family and having a career. As such, she has coached athletes to several Ironman finishes and podium results at Regional and National events.
