Main Staging Area

Site Overview Map & Event Schedule
Swim
The swim is conducted as a time-trial start based on assigned race numbers, with lower numbers starting first. Racers will start in ascending numbers about every 5 seconds. The Maryland Farms YMCA has a wonderful 50 meter outdoor pool.
The 5-7 year old racers will complete 50 meters, 8-11 year old racers will complete 100 meters, or two lengths of the pool before heading to their bikes in the bike transition area. All racers in the shorter distance races will be allowed to complete the ENTIRE triathlon before we start the next race. Ages 12-15 will complete 200 meters, or four lengths of the pool.
Transition from Swim To Bike To Run
Race staff and support will direct participants from the pool area to a secure biketransition / staging area. Please note there will be no parents allowed in this secure area to reduce congestion. The transition area will be organized by participant race number. Experienced support staff will match racers with their assigned location to assist them in finding and returning their bikes to the proper area before they take off on the final segment, the run.
Bike
The short course for ages 5-7 will be 2k (1.25 miles,) ages 8-11 will be 4k (2.5 miles) and the longer course for ages 12-15 will be two loops of the 4k course, or 8k (5 miles.) The course is on Maryland Way, closed to traffic and managed by Brentwood Police and experienced support staff.
Run
The run course for ages 5-7 and 8-11 is a total of 1k (.62 miles) - out and back on Maryland Way in the opposite direction of the bikes (bikes to west and runners to east.) The longer course for ages 12-15 will go further east on Maryland Way and make a loop through Maryland Way Park to add the extra distance needed for a total of 2k (1-1/4 miles.) Again, the road will be closed to vehicular traffic and managed by Brentwood Police and experienced support staff.
Course Maps On Map My Ride:
Bike 2k = 1.25 miles = for ages 5-7
Bike 4k/8k = 4k (2.48 miles) / 8k (4.96 miles) = 4k ages 8-11 / 8k ages 12-15
Short Course Run = 1k (.62 miles) = for ages 5-11
Long Course Run= 2k (1.25 miles) = for ages 12-15

Note About Our Event Awards
Team Magic hopes you will join us after each race for the awards ceremony - this is the grand finale of each event and is held very soon after the final race finisher.
Our policy is to not ship these awards or make them available for pick up once the award ceremony is over. While we hope all of you stay and enjoy a chance at our prize drawings, certainly we hope those who place in one of our published award categories will stay to celebrate their race by staying to claim their award.
Preliminary results will be posted as soon as possible at the race site - the location will be announced by our race announcer. If you see that you will be receiving an award but cannot stay for the ceremony, please designate a fellow racer, friend, or volunteer to claim your award.
Complete race results will be posted on our web site as soon as possible after each event, usually within 24 hours.
EVENT TIMING
The event is timed using electronic timing, with chip devices on velcro bands. Kids will pick up their timing device and get body marked with their race number at the outdoor pool prior to their race start. All timing devices and bands will be collected when they cross the finish line.
