Race Day Essentials

OVERNIGHT BIKE CHECK IN

  • Racers are allowed to leave their bikes at the race transition area overnight Friday night
  • Bikes can only be checked in during race packet pick up hours
  • Please do not leave helmets, shoes or other race day equipment, only bikes labeled with provided frame number
  • Each racer will sign in with a race staff member when they drop their bike
  • There will be overnight security
  • The purpose of overnight bike check in is to reduce race morning congestion at the transition check in area and to make it easier for racers to get parked and ready race in a less stressful fashion race morning

PARKING FOR PACKET PICK UP AND RACE DAY

  • PACKET PICK UP: there is parking adjacent to the pool area in lot in the Frisbee Golf Lot - see PARKING MAP
  • RACE DAY: follow volunteer direction for area parking - see PARKING MAP

PLEASE TAKE NOTE: Plan to stay until all racers have cleared the course if possible. This state park has many amazing attributes, yet there is a challenge for parking and leaving before the race course is cleared as the race bike or run is on both of the main roads that traverse the park and surround the main staging area in the center of the park. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE ask you friends and family to arrive and be parked by race start at 8:00 am and plan to stay as long as possible for the course to clear before they depart. ANYONE LEAVING PRIOR TO 10:30 AM IS ASKED TO SHOW EXTREME CAUTION AND RESPECT, THANK YOU!

ITEMS NEEDED | REMINDERS TO PICK UP YOUR RACE PACKET | KEY ITEMS FOR RACING

  • Photo ID Required
  • All racers, including relay team members, must pick up their own race packet
  • All racers will receive an envelope with a helmet number, bike frame number, bib number and Temporay Tattoos
  • All racers will receive a wristband - this is important to wear throughout the event to enter all racer only areas

RACE RULES

There will be USAT officials at our races to ensure the USAT Competitive Rules are properly enforced. The Competitive Rules are intended to provide for the orderly and consistent administration of events sanctioned by USA Triathlon and are not designed to establish standards of care for the safety of participants or other persons. Every participant, official, volunteer and spectator should consider all safety issues and make related decisions prudently without reliance upon the Competitive Rules.

USAT MOST COMMON RULE VIOLATIONS

RETRIEVING YOUR BIKE AND EQUIPMENT FROM RACE TRANSITION

  • Be sure you still have your body marking or race bib number and the provided wrist band to retrieve your equipment from the race transition area
  • This area is controlled for your safety so we can insure only racers enter the area and take only their equipment
  • Racers will be allowed to retrieve their bikes after the last biker returns from the bike course or as soon as race staff feels like they can safely escort racers to their bike rack location without interfering with another participants race
  • There is an exit gate marked in transition - please look for this gate to retrieve your belongings - this gate is not typically the bike in / our or run out area, but a neutral location that allows those that finish early to remove items while others may not be finished racing
