We are excited to return to our host city, Montgomery, Alabama for our 5th year of the Capital of Dreams Triathlon. The event has been moved back to the original April date for 2017. This race location has everything you could dream of for a race! The host hotel is only steps away from transition, tons of restaurants within walking distance, and a beautiful location to swim, bike, and run!

The race will take place at Riverfront Park in the newly renovated downtown Montgomery.  Racers and their family and friends can take in the civil rights history, enjoy a Montgomery Biscuits baseball game and enjoy the renovated riverfront and restaurant district…all part of the weekend race venue. Notable civil rights historical markers in the area: the Rosa Parks bus route, the Slave Market, the Martin Luther King Church, the state capital buildings where Jefferson Davis took office, and Old Alabama Town.

Course Overview

The race venue is at Riverfront Park in downtown Montgomery. From the swim starting on the Harriott II Riverboat on the Alabama River to the bike staging area at the covered Union Station Train Shed to the finish line and awards adjacent to the Riverwalk Amphitheatre, this is an awesome atmosphere for racing and for family and friends to cheer you on!

Intermediate and Sprint Events
Swim Course:  The swim will take place in the Alabama River at Riverfront Park, a great place for spectators. This is a point-to-point swim for both Intermediate and Sprint distance racers starting on the Harriott II Riverboat.

Bike Course:  This is an out and back flat course with very little elevation change. The 40k course is 2 loops.

Run Course:   Plan on a mix of flat sections and gradual incline hills on this run through historic downtown Montgomery.
