Old Hickory Lake Triathlon

2013 Race Photos can be found HERE.
The Sumner County YMCA will play host for the 3rd year. Team Magic is excited to partner with the YMCA to bring you a fresh, new atmosphere for hopefully many years to come!
In its 12th year, the Old Hickory Lake Triathlon was our first Tennessee race with just over 180 racers. With a capacity of 448 racers, don't delay registering for this uniquie sell out event.
The host community - the cities of Hendersonville and Gallatin in beautiful lakeside Sumner County and the local triathlon club (HEAT) - make this a wonderful event for all racers. The support is awesome, so expect plenty of course protection by local police and the many volunteer groups.
RACE LIMIT = 448 (capacity is limited by swim area to 1st run transition space)
As with all 2013 races, look for the great finisher medal, really cool awards and.
The venue for this event takes place for the third year at the Sumner County YMCA.
You will swim in a very calm inlet off of Old Hickory Lake, run 1 mile from the lake to the transition area, complete your 12 mile bike ride, then run another 2 miles to the finish.
The race transition is actually only 0.6 miles from the swim area. The race finish will be adjacent to the race transition area, which is located, as of 2011, at the Sumner County YMCA.
To provide what we thought was the best transition and finish area, it required us to have the transition more than a short jog from your swim exit. So, you get to experience a non-typical triathlon! Many triathlons have rather long runs from the swim exit to the transition, but we felt 0.6 miles was too much. You will be walking / jogging the 0.6 miles to the swim start from the main transition area for the race start, so plan accordingly.
While it is allowed for a relay team to have one person do more than one segment, due to the unique swim, run, bike, run set up - relay team swimmer and biker cannot be the same person at this event.
