Intermediate 1.5k | Sprint 300m
The sprint swim will be a 300 meter point-to-point swim course, where swimmers will swim with the river current from the east bank boat dock to "concrete beach landing." Team Magic will insure safe and passable footing for your exit from the river.
The intermediate swim will also exit at the "concrete beach landing." The new exit allows for more of the swim course to be with the river current, or "down river." Swimmers will begin on the east bank boat dock and start with an up river swim along the east bank for about 600 meters, then head back down river to complete the 1500 meter swim.

Intermediate 45k | Sprint 22.5k
Thanks to TDOT - the majority of the intermediate bike course will be a two-loop 22.5k course totaling 45k on Ellington Parkway. Ellington Parkway will be completely closed to traffic during the event. Sprint racers will do one loop. The course is out-and-back and is touted as a fast course. The path to and from Ellington Parkway is flat and the Ellington Parkway section has some steady inclines with matching fast slight downhills.
The bike course will start and finish on the access drive adjacent to Lower Lot R / Race Transition. Bikers proceed to a left on S. 1st Street, left on Victory Ave, right on Titan's Way along the Cumberland River - adjacent to Nissan Stadium, right on Russell Street, left on S. 1st Street, continue across Woodland Street where the road becomes N. 1st Street, right on Spring Street to merge onto Ellington Parkway.
Intermediate 10k | Sprint 5k
Get ready for a flat, out-and-back course for both the sprint and the intermediate race. Runners will exit transition under the famous Shelby Pedestrian Bridge, through Cumberland Park along the East Bank Greenway adjacent to the river, then cut over to S 1st Street for a jump over to Davidson Street, which leads runners to a turnaround just shy of Shelby Park, then back to ground zero for a finish between the main staging area (East Bank Landing) and the race transition area. Intermediate distance runners will do this out and back section twice, coming all the way back to under the Shelby Bridge for a spectator friendly turnaround adjacent to Cumberland Park.
Water and energy drinks will be offered at the run start, and approximately every mile during the run. There will also be ice and iced towels available on the run course and at the race finish line.
