The first run course is the exact same, but the second run will have a different turnaround point than in past years - please review your race booklet for more information. THE BASICS: 2. You must present a photo i.d. and your USAT membership card (if you are a member) to receive your race packet. If you have lost your USAT card, please go to www.usatriathlon.org to print a temporary card. If you do not have your USAT card, you will be required to pay the $10 one day fee. If you do not have a photo id, you will not be able to race. If you are not a USAT member, you likely paid your $10 fee with your registration fee, if not, you will be asked to pay at packet pick up. All youth 17&Under must be USAT members or can purchase a full year membership for $5 at the race site.  A parent or guardian must be present or have a letter with a driver's license copy from a parent or guardian.  No photo i.d. is required for 17&Under. If you entered online as a USAT member but did not provide a USAT member number, you will go to a separate table at packet pick up - please be prepared to bring proof of membership or plan to pay the $10 fee. 3. Parking: Volunteers will direct you to parking, please tell your family DO NOT PARK on the side of the roads near the swim area - this is your race course and you will be impeding the race flow, thanks!! 4. Biking before and after the event: the local police ask that you please obey traffic laws and wear a helmet when riding your bike before and after the event. 5. Toilets/Facilities: There will be portable toilets in the parking lot adjacent to the transition area and two portable toilets at the swim area. 6. All racers must wear an AMB timing chip to be scored. You will pick up your timing chip on race morning at the white tent behind the race finish line and return it at the race finish line. If you cannot complete the race, please turn your chip in at the finish line. 7. Wrist Bands: We will be placing a wrist band on each racer when you pick up your race packet. This wrist band is your "full access" pass to all areas of race weekend that are limited to racers, race staff, and race officials. Please keep this band on for identification purposes. It is intended to be for your safety and to control the race atmosphere. Thanks so much! 8. Packet Pick Up:  Packet Pick Up Opens at 5:30 pm on Friday and closes at 7:30 pm.  Race day packet pick up opens at 6:00 am and closes at 6:45 am. At 5:30 pm until 6:30 pm there will be a Clinic by Coach Stephen Taylor:  "Looking ahead; Training planning for your best season ever."  and "Beat the heat; Adapting to hot weather conditions." At 6:30 pm there will be a race overview and Beginner Q&A. 9. Click here for a <a href="http://www.team-magic.com/tmtri/OHLTDirections.htm">written description of how to get there</a> from several southeastern cities.   Directions from I-65 North of Nashville Take the TN-386/VIETNAM VETERANS BLVD exit- exit number 95- towards HENDERSONVILLE and GALLATIN.  Take the SAUNDERSVILLE RD exit- exit number 8 from Vietnam Veterans Boulevard.  Turn RIGHT onto SAUNDERSVILLE RD.  Turn RIGHT onto Gallatin Road / US-31E / Johnny Cash Parkway.  The Host Hotel Holiday Inn Express is on your left, just before Bluegrass Commons Boulevard.  Race registration is inside the hotel, and all other race staging is behind the Holiday Inn Express, adjacent to the Holiday Inn Express Parking Lot. 10. Hello and thanks for registering for the Old Hickory Lake Triathlon! PLEASE let you friends know that we only have 43 spots remaining before the race reaches capacity. We look forward to our 6th annual event in Sumner County with a significant in the bike course - one of your race directors (me) and Mark Evans of ACME Multisport rode the course yesterday morning and marked your miles and turn areas. I must say that I wish I was racing! This is a much improved course with the one loop vs. out and back and only two small areas of slightly rough pavement - the rest is very smooth and great for maintaining momentum on the rolling hills on the newly paved Shute Lane portion. We will send you a final email next week with race reminders and a link to your race information booklet. For now, please visit the web site for all event details and do not forget to book your hotel room (if you are traveling from out of town) at the Holiday Inn Express by Friday or they will release the block. Hello from Team Magic and Welcome to the Old Hickory Lake Triathlon! We are happy to have you racing with us. Please note that the web page has been updated with the new bike course information including an interactive bike course map. You will also find a slight change to Run #2 (for those of you that have raced in the past.) The transition flow has also changed due to changes in the bike course. Please take the time to review these changes if you have raced this course in the past. PLEASE NOTE: 1. If you have friends planning to race, please let them know that TODAY is the last day to register for the early entry fee. The price goes up after midnight tonight (Friday, August 17th.) 2. If you are traveling from out of town, the Holiday Inn Express Hendersonville is the host hotel at (615) 824-0022. They will release the room block soon, so please call them as soon as possible to reserve your room! They are located on the main Highway 31E in Hendersonville. The street address is 615 East Main Street, Hendersonville, TN 37075. Please tell them you are with the Old Hickory Lake Triathlon and Team Magic for event pricing. This is definitely where you want to stay. The hotel parking lot connects to your race transition area and finish line! Thanks again for racing with Team Magic - we will be sending another email the week of the race with final race details and race reminders. Should you need to make any changes to your registration between now and the Wednesday before race day, you can make those changes yourself.
