THE BASICS: 1. You must present a photo i.d. and your USAT membership card (if you are a member) to receive your race packet. If you have lost your USAT card, please go to www.usatriathlon.org to print a temporary card. If you do not have your USAT card, you will be required to pay the $10 one day fee. If you do not have a photo id, you will not be able to race. If you are not a USAT member, you likely paid your $10 fee with your registration fee, if not, you will be asked to pay at packet pick up. All youth 17&Under must be USAT members or can purchase a full year membership for $5 at the race site.  A parent or guardian must be present or have a letter with a driver's license copy from a parent or guardian.  No photo i.d. is required for 17&Under. If you entered online as a USAT member but did not provide a USAT member number, you will go to a separate table at packet pick up - please be prepared to bring proof of membership or plan to pay the $10 fee. 2. Parking: There is plenty of parking in the main Nashville Shores parking lot - no parking fees will be charged to racers or spectators.  The water park IS NOT open this weekend.  Our main staging area and all race activities take place just beyond the main parking area - on the other side of the wooden fence.  There will be signs. 3. Biking before and after the event: the local police ask that you please obey traffic laws and wear a helmet when riding your bike before and after the event. 4. Toilets/Facilities: There will be portable toilets and Nashville Shores restrooms adjacent to the transition area and Shadypoint Picnic Area. 5. All racers must wear an AMB timing chip to be scored. You will pick up your timing chip on race morning at the white tent behind the race finish line and return it at the race finish line. If you cannot complete the race, please turn your chip in at the finish line. 6. Wrist Bands: We will be placing a wrist band on each racer when you pick up your race packet. This wrist band is your "full access" pass to all areas of race weekend that are limited to racers, race staff, and race officials. Please keep this band on for identification purposes. It is intended to be for your safety and to control the race atmosphere. Thanks so much! 7. Packet Pick Up:  Packet Pick Up Opens at 1:30 pm on Saturday and closes at 5:00 pm.  Race day packet pick up opens at 6:00 am and closes at 6:45 am.  Race starts at 7:30 am. Turn right on Bell Road and the Nashville Shores entrance is a 1/2 mile on the left. From Knoxville, Cookeville, and Lebanon: Take I-40 West to Old Hickory Boulevard (Exit 221) and go South. Turn right on Bell Road and the Nashville Shores entrance is a 1/2 mile on the left. From Chattanooga and Murfreesboro: Take I-24 West to Bell Road (Exit 59). Turn right and go North for 8 miles. Continue on Bell Road towards Percy Priest Dam and the entrance will be 1 1/2 miles on your right. From Louisville, Bowling Green, and Goodlettsville: Take I-65 South to I-40 East. Exit at Old Hickory Boulevard (Exit 221B) and go South. Turn right on Bell Road and the Nashville Shores entrance is a 1/2 mile on the left. Hello from Team Magic - Thank you for registering for the Music City Triathlon! Looks like a great weekend for triathlon. Upon reviewing the participant list we noticed several VETERAN racers actually registered as BEGINNERS. Since we do not know all of you, we do request that you review the participant list (link below) and notify us by noon on Wednesday, September 12th at <a href="mailto:races@team-magic.com">races@team-magic.com</a> if you have a correction for category or age. Remember you are racing based on your age as of 12/31/07. We realize people make mistakes when registering online, so don't think we think a VETERAN racer is racing intentionally as a BEGINNER. Just please let us know by tomorrow at noon or at the race site when you pick up your packet so we can have correct and prompt results. Thank you for your help! Music City Triathlon Welcome

Hello and thanks for registering for the Music City Triathlon! PLEASE let you friends know that we only have 34 spots remaining before the race reaches capacity - they should register today to insure they get in. We are limiting this race to just under 550 racers this year and perhaps increasing in the future based on bike course congestion. Team Magic wants a quality event for all of you, and a crowded bike course is not only dangerous but it also impedes your race pace. With the course options at hand, the turnaround areas lead to some course congestion. Before we were your race directors, we did participate in this race which still has much the same bike course - so we have an up close and personal opinion. We look forward to our 2nd year managing this long running triathlon tradition! The course is the same as 2006 - the bike course is not the traditional 40k distance (actually never has been,) but a couple of miles short due to course logistics (with your safety in mind.) The run course was a "tish" long last year do to a finish line adjustment, but it will be corrected this year to be right on for a 10k/6.2mi distance. NOTE ABOUT POST RACE FOOD: we are once again having hamburger and hot dog options, but will have a veggie dog and veggie burger limited availability this year. PLEASE email me at <a href="mailto:races@team-magic.com">races@team-magic.com</a> by September 10th if you would like a veggie dog or burger so we can advise Nashville Shores how many to make.
