Important race reminders

THE BASICS:

1. You must present a photo i.d. and your USAT membership card (if you are a member) to receive your race packet. If you have lost your USAT card, please go to www.usatriathlon.org to print a temporary card.

If you do not have your USAT card, you will be required to pay the $10 one day fee. If you do not have a photo id, you will not be able to race.

If you are not a USAT member, you likely paid your $10 fee with your registration fee, if not, you will be asked to pay at packet pick up.

All youth 17&Under must be USAT members or can purchase a full year membership for $5 at the race site if you have not purchased already.

2. Biking before and after the event: the local police ask that you please obey traffic laws and wear a helmet when riding your bike before and after the event.

3. All racers must wear a timing chip to be scored. You will pick up your timing chip during packet pickup and return it at the race finish line. If you cannot complete the race, please turn your chip in at the finish line. If you do not return your chip, you will be charged a $35 replacement fee.

4. Wrist Bands: We will be placing a wrist band on each racer when you pick up your race packet. This wrist band is your "full access" pass to all areas of race weekend that are limited to racers, race staff, and race officials. Please keep this band on for identification purposes. It is intended to be for your safety and to control the race atmosphere. Thanks so much!

5. Directions: The main staging area is on Riverfront Parkway on the waterfront side of the Chattanooga Aquarium. Take I-24 into Chattanooga. Take Exit 178 onto US-27. Go about 1.2 miles to exit 1A, or look for signs for downtown Chattanooga and the Tennessee Aquarium. The major downtown streets of Broad and Market will lead you to the Aquarium and Chestnut Street will lead you to Riverfront Parkway, the main drive along the Tennessee River in downtown Chattanooga. Event parking will be under the Olgiati Bridge

MASSAGE IS BACK THIS YEAR!!

Don�t miss out on this opportunity to have a pre- and post-event massage.� We will have massage therapists available on Saturday during registration (12p-7p) and again on Sunday during the race (9a-2p).� The massage tents will be located in the Expo Area.� The fee is $1/minute.�

	THANKS FOR RACING WITH US AT THE BMW OF CHATTANOOGA WATERFRONT TRIATHLON! Team Magic and the Chattanooga Track Club thank you for racing with us at the BMW of Chattanooga Waterfront Triathlon and hope you had a great race experience. The hot topic since the race finish has been the RACE RESULTS for many of you. We have received many direct emails, so many we decided not to respond to each individually like we normally would... we do pride ourselves in customer service. The race results are now available online at http://www.team-magic.com/results/CWT_AG_2007.htm. The delay: if you are not interested in why the results were delayed, skip the following paragraphs! During the event someone not directly involved with event management, but involved with the expo area, unknowingly unplugged the main power system supplying our announcer's PA system and our main power source for event timing. During the event, we did not know this. We in fact learned this after the awards ceremony was over - via someone who heard this from our race announcer. This loss of power interrupted the data collection for a number of racers at the finish line and actually some of our transition splits. The quickest way to generate the finish results at that point was to use our backup system, so this delayed the awards ceremony, as those of you that stayed know. During the last 48 hours the timer we hired to score the event, along with two other timers that score other Team Magic events, have worked to pull the data from the timing boxes and recreate the entire race results to insure we provided you the absolutely 100% most accurate finish results and event splits. Team Magic owns AMB timing equipment that is used by the timers we hire. Today, we celebrate the fact that AMB timing equipment has the ability to store all data from events so that it can be pulled and results can be recreated after the fact. From what we understand, this is very unique to AMB equipment. We could have stayed with using the backup, which did turn out to be 99.9% accurate, by the way - but Team Magic and the timers we hire are committed to insuring you have absolutely THE most accurate results possible, hence the delay. Our review of the results from the timing boxes to our backup yielded only two changes in awards and a few more changes in results beyond the top 3 in age groups. The race results online now are THE final results. If you have questions on penalties or other issues with your race results, please contact races@team-magic.com and we will forward your questions to the timers and USAT head official for a response. For those of you with questions about slots to the National Championship or World Championship, please know you will be contacted directly by USA Triathlon. Team Magic submits these final results to them and they will contact you. The following link is a portion of your RACE INSTRUCTIONS BOOKLET. This booklet contains all of the basic details you need for the weekend. You will receive this booklet along with sponsor information and ads along with your race packet at packet pick up. It is important you review the information in this booklet for race start information, shuttle departure times to the swim start, and all other race details. Welcome to our 3rd edition of the Chattanooga Waterfront Triathlon in the new downtown location.

Just wanted to touch base with all currently registered to say thanks for racing with us and give you some information on hotel options. As you may know, getting a hotel in the Chattanooga area in July is difficult. We are sorry we cannot get more discounted rates for you! We do try.
