IMPORTANT RACE REMINDERS
1. You must present a photo i.d. and your USAT membership card (if you are a member) to receive your race packet. If you have lost your USAT card, please go to www.usatriathlon.org to print a temporary card.
If you do not have your USAT card, you will be required to pay the $10 one day fee. If you do not have a photo id, you will not be able to race.
If you are not a USAT member, you likely paid your $10 fee with your registration fee, if not, you will be asked to pay at packet pick up.
All youth 17 & Under must be USAT members or can purchase a full year membership for $5 at the race site if you have not purchased already.
2. Biking before and after the event: the local police ask that you please obey traffic laws and wear a helmet when riding your bike before and after the event.
3. All racers must wear a timing chip to be scored. You will pick up your timing chip during packet pickup and return it at the race finish line. If you cannot complete the race, please turn your chip in at the finish line. If you do not return your chip, you will be charged a $35 replacement fee plus and additional $1 per day fee after seven days.
4. Wrist Bands: We will be placing a wrist band on each racer when you pick up your race packet. This wrist band is your "full access" pass to all areas of race weekend that are limited to racers, race staff, and race officials. Please keep this band on for identification purposes. It is intended to be for your safety and to control the race atmosphere. Thanks so much!
5. Directions: DIRECTIONS TO THE RACE SITE
Race registration and packet pick up will be held at the host hotel Holiday Inn Express on Friday night and Saturday morning. The address for the host hotel is 615 East Main Street, which is the same as Hwy 31E or Gallatin Road. The bike transition area and finish area are located just behind the Holiday Inn Express. Transition #1 is at the bottom of Caudill Drive at the swim entrance and exit.
Directions from I-65 North of Nashville
Take the TN-386/VIETNAM VETERANS BLVD exit- exit number 95- towards HENDERSONVILLE and GALLATIN. Take the SAUNDERSVILLE RD exit- exit number 8 from Vietnam Veterans Boulevard. Turn RIGHT onto SAUNDERSVILLE RD. Turn RIGHT onto Gallatin Road / US-31E / Johnny Cash Parkway. The Host Hotel Holiday Inn Express is on your left, just before Bluegrass Commons Boulevard. Race registration is inside the hotel, and all other race staging is behind the Holiday Inn Express, adjacent to the Holiday Inn Express Parking Lot.
Event Parking:
There is AMPLE parking in the parking lot of the First Baptist Church. This parking lot is directly adjacent the race finish line, which is on Music Village Boulevard. Please review the staging map in this booklet for directions.
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
Friday, Day Before Race
5:30 pm-7:30 pm - Registration & packet pick-up at host hotel Holiday Inn Express Hendersonville.
6:00 pm - Race Overview in Transition Area; Followed by Beginner Q & A session
6:30 pm - Coach Stephen Taylor Clinics
Rapid Recovery; Be Ready to Race Again in 1-2 weeks (20 minutes)
Race Day Run Thru; Nutrition and Pacing (20 minutes)
Saturday, Race Day
6:00 am-6:45am - Registration & packet pick-up & body marking
7:00 am - Bikes must be in the transition area. Race overview in bike transition area.
7:15 am - Racers need to be on their way to the swim start / transition area one.
7:30 am - Interval swim starts begin by participant race number.
10:00 am - Coach Stephen Taylor presents: Next Steps; What to Do after Your First Triathlon (15 minutes)
~11:00 am or earlier - Awards ceremony following designated last finisher.
