Team Magic and the Chattanooga Track Club thank you for racing with us at the BMW of Chattanooga Waterfront Triathlon and hope you had a great race experience.

The hot topic since the race finish has been the RACE RESULTS for many of you.  We have received many direct emails, so many we decided not to respond to each individually like we normally would... we do pride ourselves in customer service.

The race results are now available online at http://www.team-magic.com/results/CWT_AG_2007.htm.

The delay:  if you are not interested in why the results were delayed, skip the following paragraphs!  During the event someone not directly involved with event management, but involved with the expo area, unknowingly unplugged the main power system supplying our announcer's PA system and our main power source for event timing.  During the event, we did not know this.  We in fact learned this after the awards ceremony was over - via someone who heard this from our race announcer.  This loss of power interrupted the data collection for a number of racers at the finish line and actually some of our transition splits.  The quickest way to generate the finish results at that point was to use our backup system, so this delayed the awards ceremony, as those of you that stayed know. 

During the last 48 hours the timer we hired to score the event, along with two other timers that score other Team Magic events, have worked to pull the data from the timing boxes and recreate the entire race results to insure we provided you the absolutely 100% most accurate finish results and event splits.  Team Magic owns AMB timing equipment that is used by the timers we hire.  Today, we celebrate the fact that AMB timing equipment has the ability to store all data from events so that it can be pulled and results can be recreated after the fact.  From what we understand, this is very unique to AMB equipment.

We could have stayed with using the backup, which did turn out to be 99.9% accurate, by the way - but Team Magic and the timers we hire are committed to insuring you have absolutely THE most accurate results possible, hence the delay.  Our review of the results from the timing boxes to our backup yielded only two changes in awards and a few more changes in results beyond the top 3 in age groups.

The race results online now are THE final results.  If you have questions on penalties or other issues with your race results, please contact races@team-magic.com and we will forward your questions to the timers and USAT head official for a response.

For those of you with questions about slots to the National Championship or World Championship, please know you will be contacted directly by USA Triathlon.  Team Magic submits these final results to them and they will contact you.

If you are eligible for an award (visit the web site or your race booklet for awards offered and compare to online results) but could not stay for the award ceremony, please send $5 to Team Magic, PO Box 130178, Birmingham, AL 35213 along with your name, award level, and shipping address.
